Hey,
I'm switching from Aztec to French. At the mo, I'm really enjoying French - but I've won next to nothing with them yet. And, because I almost always play QS rated by PR has gone down by 2!
Does anyone else here play French?

i played french almost exclusively, best bet with them get market up after hitting age up asap, get ur eco tech as well as blunderbuss and great coat, abuse your cbd to the max, i sometime ship pioneers card early on vs. certain civs such as russia and iro, may be questionable but 392 hp cdb with 11 range attack will absolutely obliterate strelets and pikes if your forced to defend your town, remember your cdb have ranged resist instea of normal mellee resist, so thier r very good earlt on for defending rushes, but poor vs. raids, hell you can even push on fb's with cdb if you have army to back em up

^ what dan said. Normally getting a stable up and 5 Hussars for raiding is good. Age asap then and go for cannons and cuirs.
Other possibility is to do a double barracks xbow/pike rush. If you can't bring 'em down keep building xbows, age and send this card to transform xbows into skirms.
Edit: agesanctuary.com/index...try1302373
That's a good rec

some french strats:
10 musk semi-FF
double rax xbow/pike
5 hussar semi FF
eco FF (4 cdb instead of 700 coin)
something with natives if there are any good ones

+1, other age 3 cards are more necessary, such a 1k food, 1k gold, refrigeration, royal mint etc.

Hmm. You mean TEAM Early Skirmishers (Age1 - allows Skirms to be built in Age2) isn't worth the card?

Typically the early-skirm card isn't worth a slot. Your buddies inevitably have no skirms (brits, russians, etc.) or have early skirms anyway (dutch, russians again i guess) so the benefit is limited, and a gold based unit in colonial is a bit dicey anyway if mines are limited. The new focus on cav in age II puts enough pressure on the mines.
French are versatile and adapt to almost anything. French cav in team games are awesome, but double rax-spam-anything (they have all infantry) works pretty well too. In 1v1, if a double rax xbow or musket/hussar doesn't make sense, then I pretty much lose, but then I'm bad in 1v1.
If you like to do it, you can probably do it with the French. And they're a pretty flexible civ in Ages III also.
