TAD Fan Patch 1.1a has just been released. It allows you to access ESO using the fan patch after you have upgraded to the new official Robot Entertainment patch. This patch is merely a compatibility update. The balance, bug, and map changes in this patch are exactly the same as those found in TAD Fan Patch 1.1. If you haven't tried the fan patch out yet, you can check out what we included in TAD Fan Patch 1.1 here.

You can find full download and installation instructions for TAD Fan Patch 1.1a at the link below.

The AgeSanctuary TAD Fan Patch 1.1

It is finally here - the long-awaited TAD Fan Patch 1.1 from AgeSanctuary! This patch includes new features, improved balance, and plenty of bug fixes. Unlike the previous patch we released, this patch had two teams balancing; one for 1v1, and one for team games. We hope this will make for a more enjoyable experience for more formats of gaming. The patching process is still ongoing - we will be providing further adjustments to gameplay in the next patch.

Bonfire Studios - Another Studio from ES

General News Apparently, two studios have come from the form Ensemble Studios. Robot Entertainment (which we heard about in the previous news item) and Bonfire Studios. Bonfire Studios' website: http://www.bonfire-studios.com has already posted that they are developing a new game already. According to there website, they have worked on the Age of Empires series (I, II, and III) , Age of Mythology, and Halo Wars. Both Robot Entertainment and Bonfire Studios seem to plan to build new games, though it seems like Robot Entertainment will manage Age of Empires and Halo Wars, as quoted from their press release:

Quote::
Robot Entertainment is working with Microsoft Game Studios to develop additional content for Halo Wars and support online gaming and community for both Age of Empires and Halo Wars. Additionally, Robot is developing its own original IP.

Meanwhile, it seems that Bonfire Studios will not be involved in Age Of Empires and instead focusing on developing its own games. On their website, it seem clear that there slogan is Warning: Contents Are Hot and they already are offering iPhone and Desktop Wallpapers featuring their company logo.

Robot Entertainment Press Release

TAD News

As you have probably heard by now, Ensemble Studios (the makers of Age of Empires 3) closed down after finishing work on their Halo Wars game.

Robot Entertainment was then formed from ex-employees from Ensemble Studios, as you would of read about in the last news post.

On the 17th February 2009, Robot Entertainment posted a Press Release on their website, about forming of the new team, and continuing support for Halo Wars and Age of Empires.

Robot Entertainment wrote:

Founders of Ensemble Studios Announce Formation of Robot Entertainment

PLANO, Texas - February 17, 2009 - Robot Entertainment announced today the formation of its new game development studio in Plano, Texas. Founded by many of the original founders of Ensemble Studios, Robot has a staff of 45 comprised entirely of former Ensemble employees. Robot’s team developed the hit franchise Age of Empires™, selling over 20 million units worldwide, and the soon-to-be released Halo Wars for Xbox 360™. Tony Goodman, the founder of Ensemble, is the CEO of Robot.

"The video game industry is in a state of upheaval,” said Mr. Goodman, “not just games, but the entire landscape. Everything is changing: where we buy games, how we buy games, how much we pay, how long we play, who we play them with. As a fast-moving independent team of game developers, industry leaders and market experts, Robot Entertainment is ideally positioned to play a transformative role in the industry’s future."

Robot Entertainment is working with Microsoft Game Studios to develop additional content for Halo Wars and support online gaming and community for both Age of Empires and Halo Wars. Additionally, Robot is developing its own original IP.

As you can see in the bold, they will be support the online gaming for Age of Empires, along with Halo Wars.

Hopefully this will mean that we will see new patches for Age of Empires 3: The Asian Dynasties, or even if they make the Age Sanctuary Fan Patches official.

We will wait and see, and will keep you informed of any information that we find.

You can view the full Press Release here, and visit their website here.

Robot Entertainment - The new Ensemble?

General News

Ex-staff, including Ensemble Studios co-founder Tony Goodman, from the RTS game creating company, Ensemble Studios who have recently closed down, are forming a new company, called Robot Entertainment.

Robot Entertainment are known to have been set-up with many great staff members from ES, who have finished work on their work on the Halo Wars game for the Xbox360.

It is yet to be known if they will continue the PC Strategy Games that Ensemble Studios were well known for with their "Age of..." series. But, on their website, they are telling us that they have some "Big Ideas". What could these ideas be?

You can check out their website here.

Keep posted, and we'll inform you as more information comes to hand!
